Veterans Festival of Sport as The Dubliners and Convocation arrive at Moor Lane

Drumcondra Old Boys and Convocation (even Older Boys) will be guests at the Club this weekend as the Veterans XI take part in a tri-angular tournament at Moor Lane.

Drumcondra, who know how to party, are making their second visit to the Clubhouse and it is hoped that we will return to the Emerald Isle sometime in the middle part of 2011 hopefully to sample their fayre and maybe even a little of the Blackstuff. If you are around why don’t you come along and watch the action? First match kicks off at 1.00PM.

3rd XI 1-4 4th XI

In the most local of local derbies, the 4ths won a hard fought match 4-1, courtesy of an opening goal from Paul Ellis and a fantastic hat-trick from Mike Heaven. A match report from the 4th XI perspective has been posted, the 3rd XI report is to follow.

LRAFC Christmas Lunch

The 4th Annual Christmas Lunch will once again be organised by Charles Shepherd at the Clubhouse on Friday 10th of December, commencing promptly at 2.00PM.

Please look out for further information relating to ticket pricing and, importantly, the entertainment, which will be provided shortly. In the meantime, please put this date in your diary.

2nd XI Win Garrison Cup Final

The 2nd XI crowned off a successful campaign in 2009/2010 with a 2-1 victory over Chester Nomads in the Garrison Cup Final. Goals from Johnny Shields and James Robbins were enough to secure the win despite conceding a late goal to ensure a nervous finish.

Skipper Nick Okell said “It is remarkable that we even won a game at all this season, never mind a trophy considering I was in defence and Bobbins was up front”.
